How to add the "Copy and release transport" post function to a Jira workflow
The Copy and release transport post function is best suited to trigger, when the work on a transport request is done and a transport copy - with the done work included - can be created and released on a test environment. Therefore it should be added after the Assignee ends their work. The SAP component of SAP Transport Panel can be configured so that only released transport tasks or all transport tasks are integrated into the transport of copies (See all related SAP transport task and release specific transport tasks via Jira).
Transition: IN PROGRESS → READY FOR QA
- The SAP Transport Panel Copy and release transport post function is executed.
- The SAP interface receives the command and creates a copy of the SAP transport that was created in the previous step (How to add the "Create transport" post function to a Jira workflow).
- A new issue with a specific issue type (depending on the assignment in the configuration) is created and linked to the first issue by SAP Transport Panel. The ID of the Transport of copies is stored in the Transport Panel of the created issue.
- Remark for multiple transports: One transport of copies is created for each transport and execution of the function.

5 | Optional Step: Test whether this configuration step was successful:
SAP Feedback To be able to provide the user with information, messages are written in comments in the Jira issue, since post functions have no direct connection to the UI. |
QA is done on a different client?
The SCC1 transport post function can be used instead of the copy and release function if the QA client differs from the globally set client. The SCC1 configuration (client and user) is used here.
The correct system needs to be configured (Connect Jira to SAP)
